Libdvdcss comes with complete support for a large number of platforms, including Mac OS X, BeOS, Windows, Solaris, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD.
On top of that, libdvdcss comes with 7 different functions included in the API. Furthermore, libdvdcss doesn't require the drive region, so you can use it region-free.
Libdvdcss is included in the VideoLAN project, developed as a video streaming solution. The library's behavior can be change by two difference variables, DVDCSS_METHOD and DVDCSS_VERBOSE.
DVDCSS_VERBOSE allows you to set the verbosity level, with values ranging from 0 to 2. DVDCSS_ METHOD allows you to easily select the decryption and authentication method that the library uses for reading scrambled discs.
The DVDCSS_RAW_DEVICE variable allows you to specify the raw device you want to use, while the remaining variable, DVDCSS_CACHE enables you to specify a directory where you can store title key values.
